A U.S. Grade I winner by iconic sire Danzig, Glencrest-bred MILITARY is from the prominent sire-producing family of Rahy, Saint Ballado and Singspiel.
From relatively small numbers, MILITARY has achieved marked success, siring 11 stakes horses, five two-year-old stakes horses, and consistently improving his mares.
Best known of his progeny are Grade I winner Gun Salute ($823,669) dirt and turf stakes winner Beau Dare ($425,745), and multiple 2009 stakes winner Turfiste.
And as Bill Oppenheim noted in the Thoroughbred Daily News, MILITARY has averaged only 22 foals in first five crops…But he still ranks above 1.50 in all major categories, and, especially with a 2.43 two-year-old index, he still looks a really good option if you’re looking for a son of Danzig.”
MILITARY’s APEX Rating for 2YOs is 2.35, higher than Malibu Moon, Unbridled’s Song, Distorted Humor, Street Cry, Pulpit, Sky Mesa, Indian Charlie, Forestry, and More Than Ready.
